What We Actually Do (and Don't)

Manuscript Editing

From developmental feedback to final proofread. We work with fiction, non-fiction, memoir, and academic texts. We don't ghostwrite — your voice stays yours.

From €0.012/word

Book Design

Print interiors, eBook conversion, and cover design. We handle trim sizes from A5 to 6×9 to custom. We don't do illustration — but we partner with illustrators on referral.

From €240/project

Publishing & Distribution

ISBN registration, IngramSpark and KDP setup, metadata optimisation. We don't act as your publisher — you retain all rights and royalties.

From €45/unit

Why Authors Trust Transparent Pricing

In a 2024 survey by the Alliance of Independent Authors, 68% of self-publishing authors said unclear pricing was their biggest frustration when hiring book professionals. We built BookMasterHub to solve that exact problem.

Every rate on this page is the rate you'll pay. If your project has unusual requirements — say, a 200,000-word epic fantasy with 14 appendices — we'll tell you upfront what changes and why.

How Your Final Cost Is Calculated

No packages. No tiers. You pick only the services you need, and the total is the sum of those line items. Here's the sequence:

1

Tell us your manuscript details

Word count, genre, current stage (first draft, revised, nearly final). This determines which editing level applies and the per-word calculation.

2

Select the services you need

Choose from the table above. Need only formatting and a cover? Fine. Need the full chain from developmental edit to distribution? Also fine. No minimum commitment.

3

Receive an itemised quote within 48 hours

We multiply your word count by the per-word rate, add any fixed-fee services, and send you a clear invoice-style breakdown. No negotiation games.

Clarity Centre

Common questions about our pricing model and how book services work.

Why don't you offer fixed packages?

Packages force authors to pay for services they don't need. A memoir that's been through three beta readers doesn't need a developmental edit. A novel with a designer friend doesn't need cover design. We let you build your own scope.

Can the price change after I receive a quote?

Only if the manuscript scope changes — for example, if you add 20,000 words after the quote. We'll flag any adjustment before proceeding and explain the new calculation.

Do you charge a deposit?

Yes — 40% upfront for projects over €500. For smaller projects, full payment is due before work begins. All payments are invoiced with a clear breakdown.

What if I only need one service?

That's perfectly fine. Many authors come to us for a single proofread or just eBook formatting. There's no minimum order or bundling requirement.
